Arvada is a city in Jefferson County located northwest of Denver. Its history dates to the discovery of gold along Ralston Creek in 1850 and its later development as an agricultural center known for celery production. Today, Arvada includes established residential neighborhoods, newer developments, commercial districts, parks, trails, and cultural venues. Olde Town Arvada serves as a historic district with restaurants, shops, galleries, and other local businesses, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities presents performances, exhibitions, and educational programs. The city is served by RTD’s G Line, connecting Arvada with Denver, and includes more than 120 miles of trails for walking and biking. Housing ranges from single-family homes and townhomes to condominiums and apartments.
