Greenpoint is a waterfront neighborhood in northern Brooklyn bordered by Williamsburg to the south and Newtown Creek to the north and east. Historically an industrial and manufacturing district, the area has evolved into a mixed residential and commercial community while retaining many historic buildings and warehouse structures. Housing includes rowhouses, low-rise apartment buildings, converted loft spaces, and newer residential developments, particularly along the East River waterfront. Local commercial streets provide grocery stores, shops, and dining options that support everyday needs. Transportation includes the G subway line, several bus routes, and NYC Ferry service connecting the neighborhood with other Brooklyn waterfront communities and Manhattan. Public green spaces such as McCarren Park and Transmitter Park provide recreational space and waterfront access.
