East New York

by

East New York is located in eastern Brooklyn, bordering Cypress Hills, Brownsville, and Canarsie, with Queens to the east. Developed largely in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the neighborhood features attached rowhouses, semi-detached homes, public housing developments, and low- to mid-rise apartment buildings. It is served by multiple subway lines, including the A and C at Euclid Avenue and the J, Z, and L at Broadway Junction, along with extensive bus service. The Long Island Rail Road’s East New York station provides additional regional access. Commercial corridors such as Liberty and Pennsylvania Avenues support retail and services. Nearby open space, including Highland Park and Spring Creek Park, contributes recreational amenities within this evolving Brooklyn neighborhood.
