Bushwick

by

Bushwick is a residential and mixed-use neighborhood in northern Brooklyn bordered by Williamsburg, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Ridgewood (Queens), and East New York. Historically an industrial area, it features a mix of row houses, pre-war apartment buildings, converted loft spaces, and newer residential developments. Former manufacturing buildings now house creative workspaces and small businesses. Commercial corridors along Broadway, Knickerbocker Avenue, and Myrtle Avenue provide retail, dining, and services. The neighborhood is known for its prominent street art and active arts community. Bushwick is served by the L, M, J, and Z subway lines, offering connections to Manhattan and other parts of Brooklyn. Public parks and community gardens provide open space within a dense urban setting.
