From NBA Contracts to Luxury Closings: Seth A. Cohen’s Deal-Making Journey

“I constantly challenge myself to raise the bar, achieve the best results and never accept anything less than first place. I am proud to bring an unmatched level of trust, care and passion to my clients. My focus is on building lasting relationships and making sure that every one of my clients knows they have a partner truly dedicated to achieving their success.” – Seth A. Cohen

Seth A. Cohen of Brown Harris Stevens Miami has built a solid reputation for consistently closing high-stakes deals. With a career spanning two of the most fiercely competitive industries, professional sports and luxury real estate, he’s earned the utmost respect for repeatedly delivering standout results. From navigating the high-stakes NBA Draft with rising athletes to dominating Miami Beach’s iconic Blue and Green Diamond towers, Cohen has channeled his competitive drive into measurable tangible success.

Cohen first honed his dealmaking skills representing professional athletes, where every negotiation had potential to shape a career. He brings that same disciplined approach to Miami’s competitive real estate market, guided by a Michael Jordan-inspired belief in constant improvement and refusing to settle.

The results speak for themselves: last year, Cohen was responsible for $13.1 million in sales at the Blue and Green Diamond alone, setting records for both total price and price per square foot in the towers' 25-year history. Never complacent, he’s on pace to double his Blue and Green Diamond sales in 2025 with $17 million already closed and representing 50% of all the sales in the iconic towers in the first six months of this year.

Demonstrating an uncommon ability and commitment to relationships and results equally, more than 40% of his transactions involve representing both buyer and seller, and he goes on to manage more than a third of the units he sells.

A pivotal force in the lives of the players he has represented, Seth now demonstrates that same unmatched passion, unparalleled guidance and proven leadership in the real estate arena. Cohen possesses a level of expertise few in real estate can claim, built on years of representing professional athletes when the stakes were at their highest.

Before making his mark in real estate, Cohen founded SAC Sports Family in 2009, a boutique sports representation firm that built success despite competing with industry giants like CAA and Roc Nation. He established a reputation as the underdog with an unmatched eye for talent and a personal touch that players and their families trusted.

Between 2009 and 2021, Cohen negotiated 18 NBA contracts while securing high-profile endorsement deals with brands like Rolex, Mercedes-Benz, Kia, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Nike, and Adidas. He became known for achieving the improbable in the NBA Draft, making one client one of the oldest lottery picks ever selected in NBA Draft History (Cameron Johnson, University of North Carolina, 2019) and securing another’s selection despite having never played a single college game (Ricky Ledo, Providence College, 2013). Seth negotiated the terms of Ledo's NBA rookie contract, face-to-face with Mark Cuban (Dallas Mavericks' owner), as Dallas traded with the Milwaukee Bucks for Ledo on Draft night.

Perhaps nothing reflects his credibility in the industry better than his unique invitation from former legendary NBA Commissioner David Stern. In 2012, Cohen became the first and only agent ever asked to represent the NBA overseas for its Basketball Without Borders initiative. Traveling to Moscow, he spent ten days attending elite basketball camps, mentoring the sport’s top young international prospects, and meeting with the U.S. Ambassador to Russia. Cohen reflects on the experience as a defining moment that underscores his commitment to trustworthiness and integrity.

His move into real estate was born of the same loyalty that defined his sports career. As athletes he represented signed with their new teams in unfamiliar cities, they turned to him for guidance on buying their homes. So he earned his real estate license, determined to bring the same level of advocacy and expertise to buying a home as he did to negotiating both NBA contracts and endorsement deals. While he balanced both industries for several years, Cohen shifted his full-time focus to real estate in 2022. He continues to hold his NBA agent license as a testament to the trust and relationships he built over more than a decade.

Today, Cohen’s approach to real estate is deeply personal and relationship-driven. He views every introduction as the beginning of a long-term partnership, not just a one-time transaction. Casual conversations and encounters often evolve into lasting business connections and friendships. The relationships he has cultivated over his 27 years living in Miami Beach are a testament to his character and values. His colleagues in both the sports and real estate worlds describe him as incredibly passionate, authentic and wholly devoted to the people he serves.
