Designed by Buchman & Fox in 1900, 1261 Madison Avenue is one of Carnegie Hill’s earliest and most distinctive luxury apartment buildings. Built in the French Beaux-Arts style, it features a mansard roof, cast iron railings, and elegant detailing. This 7-story, 14-unit landmarked building was praised in 1910 as “one of the most select and attractive” on Madison Avenue and remains a neighborhood gem.
