When thinking of the Hamptons, one usually recalls summers spent relishing in coastal splendor, lunching on the high-styled sidewalks in one of the charming historic villages, and philanthropic galas galore, but there’s a large cultural aspect encapsulating the East End of Long Island that’s less in the forefront of those visiting, but pinnacle to the experience. Wine.
Though the North Fork dominates, the South Fork hosts a few choice wineries that produce excellent summer wines considering the terroir of the region is incredibly versatile.
Wölffer Estate

We couldn’t talk about wine on the South Fork without mentioning the powerhouse that is Wölffer Estate. Founded by Christian Wölffer in 1988 and now run by his children and winemaker Roman Roth, Wölffer Estate offers wine and cellar tours, wine tastings with snacks, and a multitude of events.?Visitors can enjoy the tasting room, a casual patio, and events at the estate, or a more laid-back experience at The Wine Stand.?
The harvest just gets better as Winemaker and Partner, Roman Roth, states: “Following the greatest vintage in Long Island history, the glorious 2024, the 2025 growing season is right on its heals when it comes to quality. The season had great heat periods and very little rainfall speeding up the ripening and ensuring ripe flavors, lots of color for the red wines and great concentration across the board. We missed Hurricane Erin and if the next 8 weeks will be favorable, we will have another dream vintage to make New Yorkers and the whole East Coast proud of our wines.”
"Wölffer Estate is a staple within our community," said Brown Harris Stevens Agent, Steven Gerardi, “I go here to celebrate life with friends, on a sunny evening in September. Wölffer is my favorite winery out east.”

Wolffer, in all its popularity, does draw quite a crowd, but there are a couple other South Fork Wineries that offer premium service and selection, like Channing Daughter and Duck Walk vineyards.
Duck Walk Vineyards
Duck Walk Vineyards is nestled among expansive vineyards in Water Mill and features a charming Chateau-style building surrounded by scenic views. Duck Walk is known for a wide selection of wines, with standout favorites like the Vidal Ice Wine, made from grapes naturally frozen on the vine, and a rich Blueberry Port crafted from wild Maine blueberries. Their offerings span everything from crisp whites and bold reds to rosé, dessert wines, and sparkling varieties. The tasting room and outdoor patio provide a welcoming spot to relax, especially during summer weekends when live music adds to the laid-back atmosphere.
Channing Daughters Winery

Channing Daughters Winery, located in Bridgehampton, is also a boutique vineyard that’s also frequented by the Brown Harris Stevens Bunch.
Senior Executive VP, Sara Rotter is a fan of the atmosphere and overall great vibes, sharing: “My husband and I live nearby and were struck by its beauty, relaxing atmosphere, welcoming staff, and picturesque views! The wine and snacks were fantastic with a fun tower presentation for the various wine offerings.”
Spanning 28+/- acres of vineyards and Channing Daughter produces wines from a diverse range of grape varieties. A standout feature of the estate is its sculpture garden, showcasing striking pieces by the winery’s founder and sculptor, Walter Channing. One of their signature offerings is the Molti Rosati program, a creative rosé collection made from seven different grape blends. This is just one example of the many unique wines available at the vineyard.
“Channing Daughters in Bridgehampton horse country is a fun relaxed winery”. The covered patio, open year-round, is casual and for fall weekends they have tents for additional seated tastings. Their flights are the best and give a broad spectrum of different wines. Ask for Laura…she’s awesome!”, says agent Timothy C. Burch.

For a relaxing and artistic wine experience, a trip to this charming family-owned winery is well worth it.
While we’d like to shine a light on our South Fork Vineyards, naturally, we couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to mention a few favorite spots on the North Fork.
Chronicle Wines

What’s been dubbed the “Best Kept Secret on the North Fork” by Northforker magazine, Chronicle Wines is a small, women-owned tasting room hosting 5 brands made by the owners, Alie Shaper and Robin Epperson-McCarthy.
"Chronicle Wines is all about keeping wine unpretentious and bringing people together. Stories that are shared over a bottle at dinner and the memories made on the beach with a glass of sparkling rosé at sunset. Step into our tasting room and it feels like walking into a friend’s living room, comfortable, welcoming, and full of good company. Plus, Alie or I might be there to share our own wine stories with you."
RGNY
RGNY is a certified sustainable winery with a foundation deeply tied to the Rivero González family legacy and rich Mexican heritage. RGNY embraces a thoughtful approach to winemaking. Rather than focusing on what’s left out, RGNY celebrates what’s intentionally included, highlighting the essential and meaningful in both process and product. The 90+/- acre vineyard features a large barn-like structure with 2 separate tasting rooms, a gift shop and a spacious outdoor patio. Visitors can enjoy vine-front seating and firepits. If two bars aren’t enough, you can also order wine from an outdoor bar innovatively built from a shipping container.
